10 Most Unique Fight Finishes In UFC History
5. Jon Jones Makes Lyoto Machida Go Limp With A Standing Guillotine (UFC 140)
From one UFC great to another.
Jon Jones has forged a near perfect MMA career and his CV boasts a whole host of spectacular and diverse finishes.
Sure, he's become more of a methodical five-round fighter in recent times, but in the early days 'Bones' was tapping and knocking out his rivals at a terrifying rate.
What was so impressive about these finishes was the fact that they were coming against some of the best in the business.
Lyoto Machida was well known for sparking out his opponents with devastating kicks, knees and sweetly timed counter punches. Yet, when he met the then-Light Heavyweight Champion in a title fight at UFC 140 he was quickly made to realise just how brilliant Jones could be.
Jones had to be patient against such an unorthodox fighter and in the second round he finally landed a left overhand which shook his rival. Trying to get back to his feet, Machida left himself open for a front headlock and Jones proceeded to force the expert striker up against the cage fence.
In one of the most unique submission finishes in UFC history, Jones tightened his guillotine whilst standing up and Machida soon became a limp carcass which Jones dumped on the ground for the win.
