10 Most Unique Fight Finishes In UFC History
4. Spencer Fisher Doesn't Appreciate Your Arrogance (UFC 60)
As the Millennium Falcon owner himself Han Solo once mused: 'don't get cocky, kid.'
Matt Wiman had either never seen Star Wars or he just arrogantly didn't think that phrase applied to him.
Whatever the reason, after Wiman got smacked in the face with a wicked right-left combination - courtesy of Spencer Fisher - he decided to then shake his head (as if the shots didn't even hurt) and held his arm up as if he'd just earned the victory.
Erm... you sort of have to win the fight in order to, you know, win, mate...
Clearly, Wiman must not have been up to date on the rules of MMA. So, Fisher kindly reminded him how to end a scheduled clash... by throwing his entire bodyweight behind a flying knee.
Wiman clutched his head and neck, while Fisher casually sauntered away from the scene. He then punched the air in celebration as soon as he realised that Wiman wasn't going to be getting up any time soon.
The moral of this story is not to let your confidence get the better of you, I suppose. Or at the very least don't throw your arm up to celebrate when your rival is not only still conscious, but preparing a knee for your face.
Wiman's loss is the unique fight finishes gain!
