3. Godofredo Pepey Can Lock A Triangle In From Anywhere (UFC Fight Night 62)
A true master of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu can throw out a significant submission attempt from pretty much any given position in a bout.
Yet, most of them would still probably not be expected to launch themselves into a triangle attempt whilst they're being backed up against the side of a cage. But, former UFC Lightweight (and 1st degree BJJ black belt) Godofredo Pepey was quite fond of the unexpected, as it goes.
Caught in a clinch with Andre Fili at UFC Fight Night 62, Pepey refused to let go of his opponent's left arm and was very much looking for an opening.
Fili then threw a seemingly standard knee to the body, only for Pepey to respond by completely shocking the arena.
Once the knee had landed, Pepey took this as his cue to launch his legs up and around Fili's head. Panicked by the situation, Fili slammed Pepey to the mat, but this simply made things worse. Desperately trying to escape for what felt like an eternity, every move that Fili made only aided his demise. Pepey had firmly locked his ankle under his knee and when he finally yanked down on his rival's neck he had no choice but to tap.
From controlling the clinch to being choked out on the ground in a matter of seconds. This fight game can be a bloody rollercoaster.
