7. Ron Simmons Says 'Damn' A Lot

Moving away from his position as a full-time wrestler in 2004, Ron Simmons, known mainly as Faarooq, kissed goodbye to a successful run with Bradshaw as The APA.

His career was largely over, but following a few years of absence, Simmons returned to speak only one word on television. In the process, he became a much-loved occasional act once more.

From 2006 onwards, Simmons would appear whenever something especially idiotic, comical or strange happened. Looking incredulous at what was being presented around him, the legend would take his time before putting the microphone to his lips and suddenly exclaiming 'Damn!'.

Anticipation grew for his appearances, and a special Ron Simmons shirt with the word emblazoned across it was even released through WWE's official shop.

Key to the success of the idea was that Simmons didn't say anything else -his disbelieving facial expressions said it all.

'Damn' is still a trope being used today, there's no finite shelf life for the random idea. It's not something many could have predicted for Ron's career following in-ring retirement.
