10 Most Unsuccessful WWE Tournament Winners
7. Roman Reigns
Speaking
of WWE Championship tournaments, the worst occurred in 2015 after Seth Rollins
had to vacate due to injury. Speculation ran rampant heading into Survivor Series
as fans brainstormed how WWE would crown its new champion. A disappointing
tournament including few big names concluded at the pay-per-view as Roman
Reigns defeated Alberto Del Rio and Dean Ambrose beat Kevin Owens to meet in
the finals.
After
a measly nine minutes, Reigns pinned his buddy to win the title. As confetti
fell and most of the audience booed, Triple H came out to congratulate the new
champion. Except he was referring to Sheamus, who cashed in his Money in the
Bank contract to beat Reigns in 30 seconds.
Once
again, WWE presented a pointless tournament that undermined the credibility of
the winner.
