10 Most Unthinkable Comebacks In Wrestling History
5. Ultimate Warrior Returns To WWE
Ultimate Warrior was a bad human being, the sort who'd unleash a 3,000-word rant on a sweat shop worker if one of his shirt buttons popped off.
That of course isn't why he was estranged from WWE forevermore - if anything, they shared certain beliefs - but rather because WWE went to the unprecedented lengths of producing a special DVD set dedicated to burying him. 'The Self-Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior' DVD was its name, but realistically, it could just as easily have been called 'Why The Ultimate Warrior Was A Sh*t-Disturbing Flash In The Pan Who Was Horrific To Work With And Was Only Liked, For A Very Brief Period Of Time, By Tiny Little Kids Who Really Didn't Know Any Better (And Also His Promos Were Stupid And Unintelligible)'.
They killed the guy on that thing. It was remarkable.
Perhaps it was felt that Warrior had finally reached the point at which an in-ring return was impossible, even for a wrestler that did as little a he did, and they might as well air their grievances. He was apparently asked to participate in a documentary that was almost certainly pitched under a different title until he said no. Is it true?
Were they that petty?
Warrior evidently forgave, but he did not forget: when he made his improbable comeback to enter the Hall of Fame in 2014, he referenced the DVD more than once.
