10 Most Unusual Locations For WWE Events

3. Penn Station

For those first six weeks, Shotgun Saturday Night was a strange exploration of what a live TV show in non-traditional venues could offer fans. Still, with respect to the Mirage Nightclub, none of those early episodes was as notable as the last live edition, which aired from Manhattan's Penn Station.

Nestled right under Madison Square Garden, Penn Station is a New York City landmark that serves more than 600,000 passengers a day via several railroad lines. On February 8, 1997, the WWF hosted an episode of Shotgun Saturday Night in Penn Station, with a ring set up directly in the concourse.

The show opened with a vignette that saw The Undertaker drive an Amtrak train into the station, and that played into the most memorable moment of the episode. Undertaker and Triple H waged war in a match for HHH's Intercontinental Title, one which the champion won via disqualification. After the bout, though, Undertaker chased HHH up a staircase, then gave him a Tombstone at the top of an escalator, which carried Triple H's supine form downward.
