Wrestling fans of a very specific age will never forget when the U.S.S. Intrepid hosted Yokozuna's Bodyslam Challenge. Though no matches were held at the show, it actually proved to be one of the most memorable wrestling events of the era.

An aircraft carrier built for use during World War II, the Intrepid is now permanently docked at Manhattan's Pier 86 as the foundation for the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum. On July 4, 1993, though, it also served as a venue for Mr. Fuji and Yokozuna to insult America, swearing that no American could bodyslam the girthy WWE Champion.

They were almost right. Many tried, including The Steiner Brothers, Randy Savage, Crush, and mainstream athletes like Keith Sims of the Miami Dolphins and Bill Fralic of the Detroit Lions. The villains looked to have won the day, but then Lex Luger came out of the sky in a helicopter. He slammed the 500-pounder to claim the truck offered as a prize and thrill the thousands of fans watching.
