Mr. McMahon: 1 elimination (1999)

Sticking with the theme of eliminations, the record for most ‘underwhelming’ winning performance goes to the Royal Rumble winner who managed to eliminate the fewest opponents on his way to victory.

That title goes to Mr. McMahon for his 1999 effort, in which he lasted an admirable 56 minutes, but managed to pick up just the one elimination during his lengthy stay. Luckily for him, that elimination proved to be the decisive one, as it was that of Stone Cold Steve Austin—the very man Vince had spent the entire match trying to foil.

Of course, Mr. McMahon wasn’t technically a full-time performer at this point, plus he wasn’t even present for much of the match, so it’s not too surprising that he takes this record.

Beyond the Chairman of the Board, a trio of past winners have emerged victorious with just two eliminations under their belts: first Big John Studd in 1989, before Edge and Alberto Del Rio followed suit in 2010 and 2011 respectively.
