10 Most Violent AEW Wrestling Matches So Far

1. Kenny Omega Vs. Jon Moxley (Lights Out Match)

There simply hasn't been an AEW match that's come anywhere Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley's Full Gear 2019 showdown in terms of sheer violence.

Heading into the event, everyone knew the two were going to absolutely tear into one another. The weeks building up to it saw a barbed wire mop teased, while 'The Purveyor of Violence' had also planted Omega through a glass table. Things weren't going to make for an easy watch on that November evening, and as fate would have it, the pair were far more brutal than anticipated.

Utilising all manner of weapons to vary their arsenal, the match was packed full of spine-tingling spots. That suplex off the ramp into the barbed wire pit Moxley performed on the future AEW World Tag Team Champion remains the most barbaric spot in the company's short history. Adding in a missed Phoenix splash by Kenny, resulting in him landing on the exposed ring boards, and you can understand why 'The Best Bout Machine' refrains himself from competing in these sorts of matches on a regular basis.

It's likely we'll never see anything like this again in AEW, given the consequences, but we'll always have the nasty images from the bout to look back on.
