10 Most Violent AEW Wrestling Matches So Far

WWE failed to utilise both Cody and Dustin Rhodes throughout their tenures in the company. AEW, however, managed to get them both over as top stars on the company's first show.

Just look at the above image. The emotion shown from both Rhodes brothers was palpable.

Everyone knew that both Cody and Dustin were capable of producing a show-stealing match, but no-one knew quite what to expect when they collided at the inaugural Double or Nothing pay-per-view. While it was the most technical of the matches featured on this list, that image alone proves that even the most technical masterclass can still be a bloodbath.

As mentioned, it was a piece of technical art for the most part, but once 'The Natural' had been sent careening into an exposed turnbuckle, the blood flowed and flowed, and then it flowed some more. That the canvas literally changed colour from the sheer amount of blood that escaped both men's bodies reminded you that a) it makes for a nice change to see a true bloodbath every now and again, and b) Dustin Rhodes could still go, despite what WWE let you think for so long.

In terms of an AEW match being violent while still telling a genuine story, we may never see another one like Cody vs. Dustin.
