It may not have had a stipulation attached to it, however, Cody and Chris Jericho's AEW World Championship encounter from the first Full Gear remains as brutal as those that did have a stipulation surrounding them.

The match had a lot to live up to, seeing as 'The Prince of Pro Wrestling' was Jericho's first major challenger since 'Le Champion' was crowned the first World Champion. There was a solid story being told coming into it too, surrounding Cody being at a disadvantage against Jericho. The Dynamite brawl with The Inner Circle against Cody, Dustin Rhodes, MJF, and Diamond Dallas Page was a superb slice of storytelling.

All it took, though, was one missed dive, and this match earned its place on lists like this.

Launching himself over the top rope towards 'The Demo God', Cody found himself landing rather awkwardly on the ramp, causing a serious cut to open up above his right eye. A seemingly endless stream of blood gushed out of Cody's head. The fact it only covered one side of his face made it appear far nastier than it perhaps was.

'The American Nightmare' has proven he can fly (see also: the moonsault vs. Wardlow), however, maybe he should stick to technical wrestling as opposed to taking flight.
