10 Most Violent AEW Wrestling Matches So Far

6. Kenny Omega Vs. Joey Janela (Lights Out Match)

Nowadays, Dark is mostly reserved for the undercard AEW talent to get a bit of screentime against young hopefuls looking to make their own mark. Typically packing a couple of dozen matches into your Tuesday evening dose of wrestling, it's usually a hit or miss show in terms of the quality.

When it first launched, though, things couldn't have been any different. Dark was once a genuine home for can't-miss clashes. One of the greatest examples of this was Kenny Omega and Joey Janela's Lights Out Match from the second episode.

It was vastly different from their Dynamite encounter, which was a hard-hitting, high-flying, technical masterpiece, whereas this was as brutal as they come. Ladders, chairs, and V-Triggers galore, 'The Bad Boy' and 'The Best Bout Machine' tore it up in a contest that set the precedent for Dark going forward.

A running One-Winged Angel into an opened steel chair ended the bout as a victory for the former ace of New Japan, bringing an end to Dark's greatest contest thus far. He doesn't go hardcore on a regular basis, but when he does, Kenny Omega is one of the best at it.
