10 Most WTF Wrestling Moments Of 2021

2. Bryan Danielson Jumps Ship

AEW didn't mess around at All Out.

Adam Cole, Ruby Soho and Bryan Danielson all debuted on the same night, but it was the one-time Daniel Bryan's bow that stole all the headlines. The "WTF" reaction here stems from the fact that D-Bry had just headlined Wrestle-bloody-Mania earlier in the year.

Think of it this way: The Miz showing up in TNA after main-eventing 'Mania XXVII in 2011 sounds ridiculous. Bryan's jump, from WWE to AEW in 2021, was every bit as absurd to think about. It happened though! One of WWE's biggest stars (which Danielson undoubtedly still was) traded Vinnie Mac's paydays for Tony Khan's, and he did so because he wanted to wrestle some fresh faces.

Even the most staunch All Elite fanboy would have to admit that this was fanciful before it became reality. A made man/WrestleMania headliner spurning WWE's cosy nest in favour of the unknown was unpredictable, but Bryan deserves credit for loving wrestling this much.
