10 Most WTF Wrestling Moments Of 2021

1. CM Punk Is All Elite

If Bryan Danielson trading WWE for AEW was shocking, then this was earth-shattering stuff. CM Punk had been out of the mainstream wrestling sphere since telling Vince McMahon and Triple H he was sick of their nonsense back in 2014.

Seven years later, he was on AEW's new Rampage show and looked totally reinvigorated.

Pre-All Elite, it seemed a given that Punk's outlook on WWE life would soften if the salary was high enough. Most fans probably expected to see the outspoken pipe bomb prince rock up to Raw at some point for a few more paydays, but he chose AEW instead. This was a huge shot across the bows to McMahon.

Punk was pro wrestling's most elusive free agent for years, and Tony Khan was the one who snared him. That first Rampage entrance and promo was dizzying to watch live, and so was the visual of CM Punk working matches again in 2021.
