10 Moves WWE Superstars Don't Do Anymore

6. Headlock Driver (Dean Ambrose)

The old Headlock Driver Dean Ambrose performed was a thing of beauty, and rather ingenious.

It looked painful as all hell, had sudden, nasty impact and sold Dean's unpredictable psychopath gimmick nicely. It's another that was probably deemed too dangerous by WWE and thus put on the scrap heap alongside other spiked moves like the humble Piledriver.

Without missing a step, Ambrose modified his Dirty Deeds into an under-hooked DDT from the front rather than the back. That meant his peers could bump more naturally without having to throw the top of their head recklessly towards the canvas, and it also had the added advantage of smoother motion, allowing Dean to lock it on with greater urgency.

Still, there's something one misses about the Headlock position. The wild look Ambrose had on his face right before spiking his victim put across how unhinged he was as a character.
