10 Moves WWE Superstars Don't Do Anymore

5. Throwback (John Cena)

Back when the game first came out, there was something joyous about repeatedly triggering John Cena's Throwback signature move in SmackDown: Here Comes The Pain. It looked bloody brutal, even in-game, and it was part of Cena's move set for years before he randomly stopped using it.

Lord knows why, because that thing was as safe as they come.

Those taking the Throwback had the easy job; they were only required to fall forwards in time with Cena's flip bump and land with their heads to the side. Most (if not all) of the impact came from their chests thumping the mat, not their faces, and it was actually Cena himself who absorbed much of the bump.

The name was nice as well, fit John's rapping characterisation and gave him a simple hook he could use for close near falls. Maybe he became uncomfortable flipping over as he grew older, or maybe Cena just felt the move had become boring.
