10 Movie Moments That Pissed Off Fans The Most In 2019

Terminator fans went into the sixth film, Dark Fate, with a sure air of optimism given that James Cameron had worked on the film as both a story writer and producer, while Tim Miller (Deadpool) was directing, and Linda Hamilton's Sarah Connor had even been roped back into the fold.

And as cool as that all sounded on paper, a lot of fans were simply unable to get past the film's game-changing opening scene, where young future resistance leader John Connor (Edward Furlong) is gunned down by a T-800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger) a few years after the events of Terminator 2.

Though the scene benefits from some shockingly impressive digital de-aging, killing by far the most beloved character in the franchise, only to effectively reboot the concept with a new, female substitute for John Connor named Dani Ramos (Natalia Reyes) naturally left a sour taste.

Dark Fate certainly had good moments, but at its core the film wanted to have it cake and eat it too, by clinging to the two best films in the franchise while forging a "new" story...which was basically just the original one recycled for the umpteenth time.

Though Dark Fate reviewed broadly well with critics, it tanked at the box office, as can largely be blamed on fans simply not turning up after word spread about that ill-advised retcon.
