Disney's "live-action" remake of The Lion King may have been a $1.65 billion box office smash, but the response from critics and hardcore fans was decidedly more mixed.

Even accepting the divisive use of jarringly photorealistic visual effects, the biggest bugbear was the bizarre decision to have the iconic song "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" be performed during the day.

Famously, the original animated rendition of the song occurs during the onset of the evening as befits the lyrics, yet for some strange reason, director Jon Favreau changed it to earlier in the day for the remake.

Some might see it as a nitpick, but for those who love The Lion King, it was a significant artistic oversight in the least, or a baffling conscious choice at worst.
