10 Movie Moments That Pissed Off Fans The Most In 2019
4. The Inaccurate AJ Lee Attire - Fighting With My Family
Fighting with My Family was a surprisingly effective biopic of former WWE superstar Paige (Florence Pugh), chronicling her life and times leading up to her first televised WWE match against AJ Lee (played here by current WWE star Zelina Vega), where she captures the WWE Divas Title.
Seeing the memorable match re-enacted is certainly a delight for wrestling fans, except for the fact that there are a number of inaccuracies, the worst of all being that AJ's attire looks absolutely nothing like the clothing she actually wore during the real match.
Anyone who knows anything about AJ Lee will know she'd never wear a skimpy, boring number like Vega wore while shooting the scene, and in the real-life match, Lee was instead dressed with both more modesty and attitude.
If we want to go further, Paige's attire is also wrong - though at least it looks like something she'd actually wear - and the basic beats of the match are also altered to make it look more "cinematic."
As entertaining as the movie is, this is certainly the weakest part, if only because so little care has actually been taken to accurately recreate the original match.
Even accepting that the film needs to skew broader to appeal to casual audiences, it's tough to imagine why these changes were made beyond sheer laziness.
