2. Prince Puma Vs. PJ Black (Cueto Cup)
PJ Black mostly stuck to the sidelines this season, interfering in Johnny Mundo's matches and tormenting Sexy Star, but when given the ball, he absolutely ran with it.
His exhibition match with Rey Mysterio was pretty good, whetting people's appetites for the Mysterio-Mundo bout to come, but his best showing all year was against Prince Puma during the Cueto Cup.
The former Justin Gabriel and current nunchuck-wielding Darewolf looked like a main event star as he battled one of the brand's top talents, reinvigorating fan interest in a luchador who had mostly cooled off at that point. Puma winning was a foregone conclusion, but Black put heart and soul into the bout.
It's without a doubt the best PJ Black match of his career, one that made me wish we could see him split from Worldwide Underground and strike out on his own once more.
