10 Must-See Matches At NJPW Best Of The Super Jr 29
7. Block A: YOH Vs SHO
Former tag team champions together and now bitter foes, will this one be better than their last encounter? We will find out when the Best of the Super Jr. comes to Toyama on 31st March.
Now that really is the question, let's run it back and really delve into these two and their connection. It's odd to think that two wrestlers that were such an amazing tag team wouldn't gel against one another, but we are a few years out from their disbandment and lacklustre feud, and the Best Of The Super Jr. seems like the perfect stage for this.
Together SHO and YOH were an unstoppable force, being five-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions as well as winning the Tag League three years in a row. Since their split, it seems that the pair haven't really been able to get going.
SHO joined Bullet Club, a bad move in many fans' eyes as his skill set and look would have fitted in more with the MMA-influenced gang over at Suzuki-Gun. Despite this SHO has been able to achieve championship glory with his House Of Torture teammates, EVIL and Yujiro Takahashi, winning the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championships. YOH hasn't achieved such success, floundering as a part of CHAOS, but will this year be his time to shine?
