10 Must-See Matches At NJPW Best Of The Super Jr 29
6. Block A: Ace Austin Vs Hiromu Takahashi
On May 21st in Aomori, we will see the Ace of the Junior Heavyweight division face off against the current Ace of the X-Division. Hiromu Takahashi and Ace Austin are two of the brightest stars who have transcended the idea of a junior heavyweight, facing heavyweights and putting the division on the map. Both men don't just do high flying thrills, as is expected of a junior, but they like to take things down to the mat and use power moves to win their matches.
Ace Austin is the first representative from IMPACT Wrestling to compete in the BOSJ since 2008. He is just 25 and is a three-time X Division Champion currently in his third reign, he is also the winner of the 2021 Super X Cup. Austin made his debut in 2015 while being trained by The Wild Samoans, who are part of one of the biggest wrestling dynasties, the Anoa'i family.
Hiromu Takahashi is one of the most well-known Junior Heavyweight of the modern age, being trained in the New Japan dojo by Jado and Los Ingobernables de Japon stable mate Tetsuya Naito. The two actually worked alongside one another in CMLL before Takahashi returned to Japan and joined L.I.J. since his return he has been a four-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion and has won the Best of the Super Jr. three times, he is looking to make this year his fourth and third in a row.
