10 Must-See Matches At NJPW Best Of The Super Jr 29
5. Block A: Alex Zayne Vs Taiji Ishimori
This is Alex Zayne's second appearance on this list, fighting out of Lexington, Kentucky, and gaining attention due to his match against Robbie Eagles. Unfortunately, he won't be facing Eagles. Hopefully, that chance will come in the future, but he will face off against IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, Taiji Ishimori on 21st May in Aomori.
Taiji Ishimori is the current IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion and was trained by Tamon Honda and Ultimo Dragon. Before making his way to New Japan and joining the Bullet Club he worked for Pro-Wrestling NOAH becoming the most decorated Junior Heavyweight in its history. His time in New Japan has been just as successful being a three-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight and IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion.
This match should be one of the best in the tournament with both men's styles mixing very well. Ishimori and Zayne have a level of brutality to the way they wrestle that is celebrated in the home of Strong Style. Combining hard chops, submission grappling, and high flying feats these two will gel well, working each other's limbs and softening the other up for their finishers.
