Ground breaking. In the world of WWE, nothing like this had ever been seen before. It was a watershed moment for both of the men in the ring and more 'gimmicky' matches in general. Many people over look this match in the history of ladder matches, skipping through to the Dudleyz/Hardyz/E&C days of the early 2000s. Yes their stuff took things to ridiculous heights that haven't been replicated since, but it must be noted that their creative juices may not have flowed so easily without this match as inspiration. Some of the bumps Michaels took, and the way the pair seemingly danced with the ladder was nothing short of poetry in motion. It's one of those matches that has gone down in history as one of the most iconic, and no words I write down here will ever do it justice.
