The chemistry on show whenever various members of the Four Horsewomen step into the ring with each other is really quite impressive, is it not? Clash of Champions last Sunday offered the latest in a growing body of evidence that some combination of Sasha Banks, Charlotte, Becky Lynch, and Bayley is the key to building women’s wrestling to the heights that it has shown itself capable of over the last two years.

Banks, Charlotte, and Bayley put together an emotionally engaging triple threat match that some may argue stole the show. As triple threats go, it told as sound a story – Charlotte dominating, Banks seeking retribution, and Bayley scrappily fighting from the knees up – as you are likely to find from the genre. Storytelling, combined with the creativity you hope for that breaks the monotony of the rotation of bodies for which the triple threat gimmick is infamous, allowed the entire presentation to flow very well.

The Women’s Revolution started down-trending after SummerSlam 2015, picked back up in January 2016, down-trended again after WrestleMania 32, and returned to an upswing in July. The common denominator during down periods was subtracting Horsewomen from the championship equation; the common denominator during upswings has been adding them back.
