Talking Smack, the Tuesday night post-show for the blue brand, has justifiably earned a reputation as the place where the most intriguing promos in WWE take place. In a worked-shoot environment, personalities are allowed to shine without scripting, leading to interviews that quite frequently lead to something interesting being said.

This past Tuesday, John Cena joined the program and spoke for several uninterrupted minutes in reply to last week's closing segment with Dean Ambrose, in which the Lunatic Fringe elaborated on his SmackDown promo from the week after Backlash (see: lazy part-timer).

Cena, when motivated, cuts one of the best promos in the game, and he was clearly motivated on Talking Smack, rattling off not only the insane schedule that he keeps, but also direct shots back at Ambrose.

Pro wrestling segments can be captivating when they feel organic and the worked-shoot promo has become, in the digital age of instant access to all the information we could ever want (including insider knowledge on the business), perhaps the best way to psychologically stimulate viewers via the spoken word. Cena seemed like he was being very authentic in his verbal barrage and it was most definitively must-see as a result.
