https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uueaBoxKmF8 Dean Ambrose is one of the fastest rising stars currently in the WWE, though it seems he was tested thoroughly in dark matches but his official debut in late 2012 as part of The Shield. In this dark match, Ambrose faces Chris Kincaid, but not as the Dean Ambrose you know now. His ring attire is far different from now, then wearing classic black trunks which is fairly typical wrestling attire, compared to the more individual full body attire he wears now. His persona is that of a cocky heel noted by his boasting and post-match celebration, in contrast to the more traditional heel he was in The Shield at first, or the babyface/anti-hero combination he's adopted since the breakup of The Shield and turning face. It's clear to see why they thought Ambrose was ready and why he's being pushed now, as even then he was able to appear in front of an unfamiliar crowd and warrant a clear audience response, with his distinctive look, in ring style, move-set and persona. It's arguable he'd be able to succeed, no matter how he debuted or what gimmick they gave him.
