Only 24 hours removed from defeating his longtime rival Dean Ambrose at SummerSlam, Seth Rollins spoke with Renee Young backstage at Raw regarding his victory. He boasted about doing exactly what he said he would do in beating Ambrose at the event before referring to himself as the future of WWE, alluding to his Money in the Bank championship contract. Before he could say anything more, Ambrose came into frame, dumping a bucket of ice cold water over the head of his former friend. Rollins glared angrily at Ambrose to which the Lunatic Fringe responded by saying, "What? It's for charity," with a confused look on his face. Ambrose proceeded to launch the bucket into the face of Rollins and then a brawl ensued. As noted, it wasn't an official Ice Bucket Challenge since Rollins didn't nominate anyone, but it was a rare time when a WWE segment succeeded in being both socially relevant and funny.
