10 Name-Drops You Never Thought WWE Would Allow (But They Somehow Did)

4. John Cena Threatens To Show Up On Another Programme, Brother

John Cena's second inclusion on this list should come as no surprise to anyone. Cena had long been the golden goose of WWE, so the idea of him being chastised for any of the impulsive remarks that fell out his mouth was never a realistic one.

Yet, even he pushed the boat out arguably a little too far for Vince McMahon's liking, during his 2011 storyline with the aforementioned CM Punk.

Cena had lost his match against Punk and now had to face the prospect of being fired from WWE by McMahon. But, instead of begging and pleading for his job, Cena instead made one jaw-dropping statement.

If McMahon did in fact choose to boot him out of WWE's doors, Cena would in turn 'walk onto someone else's television show and keep doing this, brother!'

This was a controversial reference to the Hulk Hogan endorsed TNA product of the early 2010s, and the fans couldn't quite believe what they were hearing.

Did Cena actually just threaten to leave WWE for TNA?

Even though the likelihood of that actually happening was fanciful, it added some legitimate stakes to Cena's kayfabe firing and with the fourth wall being completely shattered thanks to CM Punk's pipebombs, this little nugget of name-dropping goodness only reinforced the crowd's investment in this increasingly captivating narrative.

However, you can't imagine that McMahon enjoyed it much in the actual moment.
