There’s good news and bad news with this next entry.

The good news is that the Intercontinental Championship is set to be defended in a straight-up singles bout on the main WrestleMania card for the first time since 2012. The bad news, however, is that neither of the guys involved in that match were featured at all on the go-home episode of SmackDown this week.

Ever since the Royal Rumble, Baron Corbin and Dean Ambrose, the champion, have been slowly but surely building themselves a solid rivalry over the Intercontinental belt. Fuel was added to the flames at the Elimination Chamber, before a boiling point was reached a couple of weeks back when Corbin attacked Ambrose with a forklift, of all things.

Since then, though, we’ve hardly heard a thing from either man. Perhaps the writers felt they’d already done enough to set up the story for this match, and that may well be a fair point, but you’d still hope to see someone like Ambrose, not to mention the Intercontinental Championship belt, feature on the final straight before 'Mania.

Here's hoping they make up for it this Sunday, instead.
