10 Negatives Heading Into WrestleMania 33
2. 13 Matches…
Of course, even if Shaq had been available for WrestleMania, there’s still the question of where on earth he’d fit onto the PPV’s card. Because at the time of writing, there are currently a whopping 13 matches pencilled in for Sunday evening’s show.
Sure, it’s great that more people are being featured on the card - but to say that many matches sounds like overkill would be the understatement of the year. The last time we had a card that long for WrestleMania was way back in 1991, and that year featured six matches lasting less than five minutes bell-to-bell.
While Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg may be unlikely to last much longer than that, with so much talent featured throughout the card, it would be a shame to see preliminary matches cut abruptly short, meaning we could be in for another bumper six-and-a-half-hour show in all.
Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy watching wrestling as much as the next guy, but sitting through six and a half hours of anything sounds fairly tasking to me.
