10 New Directions After AEW All Out 2022
8. Jungle Boy Getting Proper Revenge
AEW may never book a pay-per-view scrap shorter than Sunday's Jungle Boy vs. Christian Cage effort. At 20 seconds, that set a new record for the promotion, and few saw it coming. Big Luchasaurus attacked JB from behind (thus turning heel again) and let Cage feed on the scraps.
This is all building up towards some Jack Perry revenge.
It might be wise of Tony Khan to keep this in his back pocket for a while. Lucha and Christian's kicking was severe enough that JB can realistically sit on the bench icing aching muscles for a while. Then, when the time is right, he can return with a bang for hot fights vs. his old tag partner and mentor.
In time, fans may view it as smart not to whisk through the payoff on an overstuffed 15-match card. Jungle Boy's ascent and revenge on Luchasaurus/Cage deserves room to breathe. Make it the Rampage main event and build an entire episode around that match, for example.
