10 New Directions After Last Night’s AEW Dynamite

2. CM Punk In The Rear View Mirror

The fallout from CM Punk's crazy post-All Out press conference rant is still being felt by AEW, and it could be for quite some time. That could also be a wrap on Punk's run with the company, but...what did he expect? You can't sit there and humiliate your boss, interrupting him at every turn whilst munching a takeaway, and expect everything to be fine.

That was either extreme frustration boiling over for Punk, or a quite staggering level of arrogance. Or, as some have pointed out in the days since, both! Whatever way one slices it, it's gonna be a long road back for the former two-time AEW World Champion.

Dynamite was a sure sign that Tony just wants to wash his hands of that stench. Punk was placed in firmly on the back-burner, and it'd be a shocker if he had a role to play in All Elite before 2023 (if at all). It could be quite some time before you see CM Punk on Dynamite, put it that way.

Yikes.
