10 New Directions For AEW After Double Or Nothing 2023

8. Taya Valkyrie Turning On Kris Statlander

Why would Taya Valkyrie be content to sit back and watch Kris Statlander scoop glory that was meant for her? If anything, Taya should be right up in the new TBS Champ's face and p*ssed that Kris beat Jade Cargill instead. There's an easy play here, and it starts with one line.

"I softened that bitch (Jade Cargill) up for you".

Naturally, Statlander wouldn't agree, which would set the table for a Valkyrie heel turn. Taya threatened to be Jade's conquerer, but AEW wouldn't come through for her in the end at DoN. Turning her rogue and having her lash out at Kris is the only way to go, surely.

Valkyrie was kinda neutered creatively on the pay-per-view, so she'll need to get some shine back. There's no better way to achieve that than by having her target Statlander. This TBS Title scene needs a logical rivalry immediately, otherwise it'll become some default Rampage regular.
