10 New Directions For AEW After Revolution 2023

4. Chris Jericho = “AEW’s Undertaker”

No, nobody's saying he should become an undead supernatural biker (or the dreaded "Booger Red"!), but Chris Jericho can assume the same sort of role The Undertaker did for years over in AEW. Basically, he doesn't need to be featured full time throughout the year, and can be used to put spotlight on young stars.

Admittedly, that's a little different to how WWE used 'Taker during the final decade or so of his career, but Jericho would always do things his own way anyway. He's Teflon, so he can afford to take more losses like the one he worked over the weekend vs. Starks.

Just...deploy him more as a special attraction.

Jericho still has a lot to give, obviously, but he isn't needed right at the top of the tree these days. He's best in this kind of star-making, part-time role. Please note, "part-time" means in-ring actually wrestling matches - Jezza can still show up on commentary and in TV promos.
