10 New Directions For AEW After Revolution 2023

5. Two Young Stars Going Up A Level

The opening two bouts on Revolution's card showed the way for AEW in 2023.

Ricky Starks now has a pair of wins over Chris Jericho, and one of those came in a featured spot on pay-per-view. Meanwhile, Jack Perry literally closed the lid on his rivalry with old mentor Christian Cage. His win, like Ricky's, was presented as a definitive tick next to their names on TK's personal push list.

Either guy could go on to challenge MJF for the top prize at Double Or Nothing. Or, and this might be the better option, Ricky and Jack could continue to soar in follow-up feuds before challenging later in the year. They certainly don't need to hold gold again until they're ready to go after the World Title.

Isn't it wonderful that two of AEW's brightest young stars are being pushed so hard? Starks and Perry have always had the talent, and they're improving all the time on promos, but now they have All Elite's backing to reach the top.

Good times.
