10 New Directions For AEW After Worlds End 2023

9. New AEW Tag-Team Champs?

AEW chiefs have some thinking to do with one Chris Jericho.

Social media backlash stemming from resurfacing allegations won't be taken lightly. On screen/creatively, Jericho has become a bit of a nuisance more than a blessing to the roster too. That might sound strange, but few of his feuds (ones the man himself would call star-making efforts) were worth it in 2023.

Now, Jericho has reunited with Sammy Guevara, and there's every chance they go on to win the Tag-Team Titles from Ricky Starks and Big Bill. That'll only happen if he's not taken off television whilst personal issues are ongoing. Events at Worlds End do suggest a title reign is in the plans though.

Guevara pinned Starks to score the win for his team in an eight-man tag, and the commentary team noted that Jericho already had a guaranteed title shot in the bag before Kenny Omega got injured. Over to you, AEW. It'd be wise to be very careful with this.
