8. Push The Miz To The Moon

I know The Miz has been given a bit of a push in recent weeks, but it still hasn’t been quite enough. I say that in light of his successful Intercontinental Championship defense over Dolph Ziggler at Backlash, it’s time to turn that dial up to 11.

Not only did he school Jagger Eaton in their backstage segment, in the ring we saw developments in this “coward” storyline as The Miz cowered from his opponent’s Superkick attempts, while the interference from Maryse that led to the finish was hardly the most honourable means by which the champ could retain.

As shady as that all was, it makes for an angle that’s equally interesting and equally entertaining.

It now looks like his contractual demands are going to be a prominent part of the storyline, and perhaps another way to keep this out-of-the-ring rivalry with Daniel Bryan going. Either way, The Miz and this angle deserve to be given pride of place on the SmackDown card, second only to the WWE World Championship picture.

If he’s going to keep winning by nefarious means, really milk it for all it’s worth. Or if he’s going to demand a better contract, have him really hold the company up akin to CM Punk in 2011 or Brock Lesnar in 2012. Because right now, Miz is proving that he’s more than capable of thriving in the spotlight when presented with opportunity.
