10 New Directions For WWE After Clash At The Castle 2024

4. GUNTHER Going For Gold

GUNTHER vs. Damian Priest would be a tough sell for SummerSlam, but the big Austrian is locked in for that PLE after winning King Of The Ring. One thing’s for sure: GUNTHER will be involved in the title scene come August. There's no getting away from that now, and that's true whether Priest is still World Heavyweight Champ or not.

Obviously, a lot can change between now and 3 August. WWE has Money In The Bank to book, and they could always make the switch from Judgment Day's main man on Raw over the next few months. Maybe GUNTHER becoming champ and Brock Lesnar's controversial return is already pencilled in...

Don't rule it out.

Again, going heel vs. heel with Priest vs. GUNTHER at SummerSlam is a risky proposition. Damian would presumably be the default "babyface" in that scenario, but it all sounds a tad messy. Regardless, it was WWE themselves who shouted loudly about KOTR going to SummerSlam.
