Then again, given that the idea of a Reigns vs. Jericho feud is based on nothing more than bodge-job logic and wishful thinking, it may never come to fruition. In which case, that would free up Y2J to have a rather more significant role in the Rollins vs. Owens rivalry.

Turning back the clocks for a moment, it was rumoured that prior to Finn Balor’s injury, there was talk of running with Balor vs. Jericho vs. Owens for the title inside Hell in a Cell in October. Naturally that’s no longer a possibility, but there’s nothing stopping the company from simply replacing Balor with Rollins and pushing ahead with the Triple Threat plan.

Not only would it be a fresh and interesting contest, but it could easily fit into the current storyline with Jericho sticking his nose in Rollins’ business and Rollins in turn seeking revenge.

Granted it would seem a little unfair for Stephanie McMahon or Mick Foley to put Jericho and Owens—the best of friends—in a Triple Threat match together, but perhaps such an arrangement could play into the tension that’s building between Rollins and Raw’s authority figures. And that leads us nicely onto our final point…
