10 New Directions For WWE After Hell In A Cell 2016

1. Fewer Cell Matches In Future

My final point refers to more of a logistical issue than anything, specifically in terms of the number of Cell matches featured on the show.

This year we saw three separate Hell in a Cell bouts; the most on a single card since 2009 and the only time we’ve ever seen three championship Cell bouts in the space of one evening. All in all, the triple header on Sunday was pretty good, but imagine how great the show could have been if they’d consolidated to two Cell matches, or even just one?

Three Cell matches only makes life harder for the participants, and they have to ensure they don’t borrow spots from the other matches and keep everything completely original.

Sunday proved that it’s possible, but for me it’s very much a case of less is more when it comes to the number of Cell matches on a single PPV. Why spread the action over three matches, necessitating a load of filler in between, when you could cram all those awesome moments into one match, and send the fans home reflecting on an excellent contest as opposed to just a few decent ones?

They may have made it work out on Sunday, but three Cell matches every year sounds like overkill to me. Then again, sometimes I wonder if "overkill" is even in the dictionary of current-era WWE.
