10 New Directions For WWE After Hell In A Cell 2022

Cody Rhodes' loss could be Drew McIntyre's gain come WWE Money In The Bank.

Cody Rhodes is either crazy, hard as balls or both.

WWE's comeback king battled through agonising pain to work a full Hell In A Cell main event with Seth Rollins on Sunday's pay-per-view. Some may argue that this was unnecessary, but Cody's entire story since returning has been built around a never-say-die attitude and willingness to go the extra mile as tribute to his father's legacy.

Still, that torn pectoral muscle was nasty, and it could be some time before fans see Rhodes wrestle post-surgery. Expect announcements on that come Raw. For now, all people can do is speculate about where WWE plans to take things next; those plans might've changed following HIAC.

That's the same across the board, in fairness. Characters are about to get the repackage treatment, new title contenders will emerge, heel turns could rock the women's scene, and old factions may become new again before too long.

Cody's second WWE comeback of the year starts now, and that could open doors for some other heavy hitters on the roster to scoop his coming prize at Money In The Bank next month.

Here's where Vince McMahon goes next.

10. Baron Corbin Getting Repackaged

What the f*ck does he have to be "Happy" about now?

Change is coming for Baron Corbin yet again. He's been WWE's 'Lone Wolf', he's been 'King', he's been a down-on-his-luck sod and now he's 'Happy'...but not for long. Losing that 'No Holds Barred' brawl to Madcap Moss at HIAC should spell the end for this current version of Corbin.

The 'Happy' thing had run its course anyway, and Moss' win was pretty comprehensive on Sunday night. Plain old Baron Corbin is likely to resurface on your telly boxes after some time on the shelf to sell that kayfabe neck injury courtesy of Madcap and a steel chair.

Starting anew could be the best thing for Corbs too - Moss has ditched his own wisecracking persona, and there's nothing left for Happy to do on SmackDown under that guise. Besides, who doesn't want to hear his sweet 'I Bring The Darkness' theme again?!
