10 New Directions For WWE After Money In The Bank 2016
5. AJ Styles Vs. John Cena Rolls On
AJ Styles and John Cena delivered a memorable one-on-one contest in which AJ was presented as a legitimate threat to the often untouchable-looking Cena and, while the finish was questionable, Gallows & Anderson’s involvement ensures that this rivalry is far from over.
There’s always talk of “burials” whenever Cena steps into the ring with a wrestler like Styles (heck, AJ even said it himself) but that didn’t happen last night, fortunately. It’s a shame that Styles’ first PPV victory over Cena will have the interference caveat attached to it, though.
Whether or not Styles is ever given a legitimate, untainted victory over Cena remains to be seen, but it’s clear that WWE see a lot of mileage in this particular pairing.
