10 New Directions For WWE After The 2024 Draft

3. GUNTHER Becoming World Champ?

WWE's Intercontinental Title meant more around GUNTHER's waist than it had for years. He held the thing with distinction - there's a reason why Triple H was hesitant to take the strap off Imperium's focal point before he shattered The Honky Tonk Man's longstanding record. Sami Zayn has a tough gig on his hands to follow up, let's just say that.

Next stop: World Titles.

Imperium shed Giovanni Vinci during the 2024 Draft, but both GUNTHER and Ludwig Kaiser stayed put on Raw. There has to be a reason for that, 'cause most believed WWE would move GUNTHER to SmackDown and line him up as a top class foe for new poster boy Cody Rhodes. Nope. Hold that thought for now.

The most logical play here is that GUNTHER goes on to become World Heavyweight Champion on Raw. Damian Priest is more of a transitional champion, and it's fair to say the Drew McIntyre vs. CM Punk rivalry doesn't need a belt to keep it hot.

GUNTHER as 'Champion King'? Don't rule it out.
