10 New Directions For WWE After WrestleMania 34

5. Brock Lesnar Seeking New Challenges

It'll be a minor surprise if Brock Lesnar doesn't take a short sabbatical from WWE to pursue fresh challenges in MMA.

Lesnar is notoriously uncomfortable sitting still. Since joining the WWE system in 2000, he has attempted to launch a pro football career, dominated UFC as Heavyweight Champion and repeatedly said in the media that fighting is something that keeps him motivated.

It'd be stupid to say Brock doesn't enjoy being part of WWE, but it is more of a means to make money than anything else. Now the bright lights of WrestleMania have faded and the company re-enter a period of the year during which business is typically lower, Lesnar may wish to take some time off to explore other projects.

That'd mean the Universal Title, Raw's top belt, wouldn't be featured on the next few pay-per-view shows, but (should Lesnar reassert himself as a UFC mauler) that's something WWE won't mind too much. Don't forget, he'd appear with the Universal belt on TV elsewhere, and to a different pool of people WWE would love to attract.

When put like that, a short break is sensible.
