10 New Directions For WWE After WrestleMania 40
Here's what's next for WWE on Raw and SmackDown after a massive WrestleMania 40.
WrestleMania 40 is in the history books, Cody Rhodes has finished his story, Roman Reigns will likely take some time off and even R-Truth had his 'Mania moment. WWE's weekend was a mad one, but both nights in Philly will be looked back on fondly - both by Triple H and his satisfied fanbase.
Everyone has a lot to be proud of.
Creative won't rest. WWE moves quickly onto international PLEs in France, Saudi Arabia and Scotland. All of that comes before SummerSlam season starts, so there isn't much time for anyone backstage to stop and smell the roses. The same goes for new Undisputed Champ and top babyface Cody. He'll be more of a regular presence on TV than the 'Tribal Chief' was.
'Mania 40 revealed new paths for Rhodes, Reigns, The Rock, GUNTHER, Drew McIntyre and more. Damian Priest finally cashed in his Money In The Bank too, but the Judgment Day man's title run is likely to be a fleeting one. Then, there's Trips' interesting call on the Undisputed Tag straps. It's all change in the doubles division!
Here's everything coming up next for WWE. No rest for the wicked, eh?
10. Brand Specific Tag-Team Titles
R-Truth and The Miz shared one of the most pleasing moments from opening night. Together, they clutched the Raw Tag-Team Titles with twin smiles, and everyone in the stands was grinning too. Awesome Truth snatched the red belts after Grayson Waller and Austin Theory hauled down the SmackDown versions.
In other words, it looks like WWE has moved on from Undisputed Tag-Team Champs.
There's a chance Triple H will elect to rename each set of titles back to WWE Tag and World Tag respectively. That'd certainly make more sense, but the looming Draft does raise questions about that; will the boss stick with the brand specific names after all? Watch this space, folks.
For now, the titles have been split yet again. Truth and Miz will defend their straps on Mondays, and A-Town Down Under will lead the way on Fridays. The definite upside is that a burgeoning doubles division finally has more prizes to shoot for again.
