10 New Directions For WWE In 2024

5. The End Of Roman’s Reign

Roman Reigns breathed new life into WWE's bones by reimagining himself as a tyrannical 'Tribal Chief' in 2020. When live crowds returned post-pandemic, people were tripping over themselves to see Roman's new character up close in person, and it didn't disappoint. Reigns has been a majestic, swaggering sensation ever since.

Nothing lasts forever. The Bloodline story, a tale so good some dubbed it "cinema", will end eventually. Roman's dual WWE and Universal Title run will end with it, and then he'll either sink into the background or come up with something new and exciting. Don't put a tenner on the latter - Reigns shocked you before, and he could do so again.

He won't be "The Only One" for too much longer though.

SmackDown can't rely on Roman every week as it is. He's on a part-time schedule, meaning the blue brand has to get creative to keep programming worthwhile. That'll stand creative in good stead once they take the belt(s) off Reigns in 2024.
