10 New Finisher Possibilities For Roman Reigns' WWE Return

8. The Pumphandle Slam

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IlTL64QuuXg A powerful move, the user places one of the recipient€™s arms between their legs while the other arm is hooked, somewhat similarly to an Abdominal Stretch. The victim is then lifted onto the user€™s shoulder and slammed down into the mat. Though the move certainly looks powerful, it seems a little bit unnecessary for the user needs to grab their opponent in a pump handle clutch, instead of just lifting the recipient directly onto their shoulder; but that€™s a discussion for another day. What makes the Pumphandle Slam a useful choice for Roman Reigns would be its unique look. Most Powerslams are done from the same position: the user picks up the opponent in front of them and then slams them. With the Pumphandle Slam, it€™s done from behind the opponent, and the added Pumphandle hold gives the illusion of greater control over the recipient. The last two WWE Superstars to use this move were Gene Snitsky and the Boogeyman, neither of whom have competed in a WWE ring for several years. In keeping with the theme of showing off Roman Reigns€™ power, the Pumphandle Slam would be perfect for Roman to use on smaller opponents to show off his strength. Furthermore, since the goal here is to make Roman€™s move-set stand out from his fellow Superstars, it would make sense for him to use a finisher that hasn€™t become so overused, like the Powerbomb or the Spear.
