10 New Tag Teams WWE Needs To Create

5. James Ellsworth & Mike Kanellis

This would be another tag-team born to give two wrestlers a story to work with rather than a serious stab at the titles. Almost as soon as he signed for WWE and made his debut, it became clear that Mike Kanellis wasn't in creative's plans. Now his wife Maria is pregnant and off the road, he's been left with nothing to do.

The promotion's YouTube did post a video in which Mike and Maria discussed Mike's battles with addiction. If WWE are feeling particularly open, they could go down that road and reveal Ellsworth (in storyline) as a friend of the Kanellis family from their time together on independent wrestling shows. Of course, they'd be using fabrication to sell a genuine struggle, but it may pay off to present Ellsworth as a humble guy who was there in his pal's time of need.

Mike and Ellsworth could become on screen friends and babyfaces because of it. It'd be wise to move on from the drug addiction story quickly though, because it's a pretty sensitive issue to explore on a PG-rated program like SmackDown.
